-The Creeper  Jeepers Creepers 2
A bus of high school students has been disabled and people are being picked
off one by one. by something that is not human.   A creature that appears
only every 23 years and then only for 23 days... when it gets to feed.  Now
with a taste for blood, the Creeper will not be denied what it wants the
most-to feed on its final day!

-Killer KlownKiller Klowns From Outer Space
When a group of kids track a shooting star to where it lands, they encounter
they strangest sight-a giant circus tent populated by clowns.   But these
are no ordinary clowns but aliens from another world!  And they've come for
us armed with evil shadow creatures, diabolical balloons and cocoons made of
cotton candy!  Now its kids of the town versus the Killer Klowns from Outer
Space!

-Imhotep the Mummy The Mummy Returns
In 1933, Egyptian High Priest Imhotep has returned from the grave once more
to be reunited with his love, Anck Su Namun.  Now he plans on gaining
control of the mythical man-beast known as the Scorpion King and with his
undead army take the world for his own.  But until he has gained certain
body parts back, he must remain a desiccated mummy corpse.
 

NEW "CHARMED" FIGURES FROM SOTA IN 2005!
 

The "Charmed" Ones are back and SOTA Toys has them!

After the huge success of SOTA Toys' first series of  "Charmed" figures, a
second series was all but inevitable.  Series 2 will be based on the Season
Six episode, "Vahalley of the Dolls."  The new series will consist of
figures of Phoebe, Piper, Paige and, for the first time, Leo.

In "Vahalley of the Dolls," Leo is held prisoner on the mystical Island of
Valhalla, inhabited by Valkyries, the warrior-women of legend.  Disguised as
valkyrie, the girls free Leo and return to San Francisco. with the angry
warrior-women hot on their trail!

Look for the "Charmed" Series 2 figures to "orb" into stores in Summer 2005.

Every Schoolboy's Nightmare

Diamond Select releases images of it's upcoming exclusive version of Darla as she appeared in the first episode of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'  Here's the description from Diamond:

Although a cool figure, we can't help but hope that Gentle Giant, usually one of the better likeness capturers due to their full body scanning system, polishes up the likeness on the figure a bit before it is released.  Look for it in the coming months.

Neca has giant plans for 2005

On their website, NECA reveals plans on just what they have planned for their 18" figure line for the first part of 2005.  Here's just a few of the figures fans can expect.

RIDDICK BOXED SET NOW IN STORES!

Riddick is back. and he's brought along a friend!

SOTA Toys has released the Chronicles of Riddick Boxed Set.  The set
includes  Riddick in Necromonger armor and Hellhound figures, each available
on in the boxed set.  Each figure comes in 7" movie scale, with multiples
points of articulation and Riddick comes with accessories and weapons.

These figures are now available at the SOTA Toys website, as well as through Musicland, Sam Goody, and Suncoast.

There is also some news brewing about the plans for the 'An American Werewolf in London' as well as Werewolves in general.  Here's a quote recently posted in The Asylum.

"we will do the werewolf from American Werewolf. It wouldn't have been a smart move for us in the first series because its going to be a box set and the retailers are being cautious about this series in the beginning and don't want a box set right now.

"I know some people don't like that I throw hints out but we actually have two other films with werewolves in them. I wont say what though.

& for the 4 Nightmare Demons

SOTA "Now Playing" series two announced, plus an announcement for the series' future in 2005, and on top of that... exciting new prototype pic of series one!

Thanks to Action Figure Times and Randy of ASK RANDY, the word is already out on series two of SOTA's exciting new line "Now Playing." Series one will be in stores this November. NECA's "Bride" is back for more Bill

Like NECA's fabulous "Kill Bill" action figure line? Then get a load of this. Right here you can see their upcoming 13-inch statue of "The Bride" from Tarantino's two-volume epic.  SOTA is on a roll lately, and definitely aiming to make a name for themselves as a major industry player.  First, they began with great licensed figures, and now they are showing their creative side, with an amazing new take on an old classic.

A MovieManiacs.net EXCLUSIVE: NOW PLAYING by SOTA

They are characters that have found a following among the fans.  Fun flicks
full of Men, Mutants, Monsters and Maniacs, they are all simply cool and cult classics!  And
courtesy of SOTA Toys, they are NOW PLAYING!

Beginning this year, SOTA Toys will be turning the characters of classic and cult movies
into dynamic action figures.  The figures are approx. 7 inches scale and
each character comes with character specific bases.

“NOW PLAYING is really a labor of love for me, “ said SOTA Toys President
Jerry Macaluso, “I’m a fan just like everyone else when it comes to horror
and genre films.  So I’ve heard all the request and ‘wish lists’ over the
years and thought, ‘Why can’t these be made?’   NOW PLAYING has been almost
a year in development and I’m really proud of the lineup of movies we’ve got
for NOW PLAYING… and even more titles are to come!”

NOW PLAYING’s first series of action figures will include characters from

synthetic skin to appear as almost anyone, Peyton exacts his revenge upon
those who took his life from him.  Because he is no longer Peyton Westlake…
He IS Darkman.

-Toxie (The Toxic Avenger)
Pity Melvin Junko!  He’s the ultimate nerd-a 98 lb weakling abused by
everyone he meets.  But when punks chase Melvin into radioactive toxic
waste, he is now longer just himself-He’s the Toxic Avenger!  Now Toxie’s
fighting crime, reaping revenge on those who persecuted him and becoming a
true hero… from New Jersey!

-Nightmare Demons (An American Werewolf in London)
Poor David Kessler.  Not only is he dealing with his best friend’s savage
murder on the moors of England and the fact that he might be a werewolf-he
is also having strange and terrifying dreams.  The worst involves the attack
of his peaceful family by horrific, militaristic demons!  The terrifying
creatures ransack his home, kill his family members, set fire to his home
then finally slit his throat!  But for David, the nightmare doesn’t end
there...

McFarlane Toys unveils six out of seven figures from Movie Maniacs 7

The wait is over for tons of Alex Murphy fans around the world. After years of petitions and pleading, McFarlane has finally unveiled the Robocop Movie Maniac figure, and the sculpt on this bad boy looks positively fantastic.

Robocop is the obvious highlight of Movie Maniacs 7, which was unveiled today right HERE. As we've previously reported however, it's fans of the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre who really win out this time. The remaining figures revealed in today's collection of images are all from that film. So be sure to take a look at the all-new images of Leatherface, Erin, Sherrif Hoyt, Old Monty and the 12-inch Leatherface at that link. Unfortunately, the figure of Corporal Hicks from Aliens is not yet ready to be unveiled, but when it is, you can be sure we'll have the news.

Easily the most controversial element of the new lineup is the inclusion of bases that are required in order to make the figures stand up. This design concept is similar to that of the two Matrix toy lines, which had many of the figures standing in "action" poses that required the use of bases to ground them. Good idea or bad idea? We'll let you decide for yourself.

The long wait is over, and the fans' prayers are answered. Dr. Loomis has a figure, NECA has created a new HALLOWEEN box set, and the end result is amazing.
