REVIEW
It's come to the point now when you review anything by Sideshow, that rating the look of it is almost unnecessary. Sideshow has worked its way up from a small company with great ideas and talented artists, to arguably the producer of the most desired collectibles based on films today.
The Reason? They know how to make their stuff, and what licenses to go after. Take their latest acquisitions. Sideshow has gone from the house that the Universal Monsters built, to a powerhouse where if it's a popular film, they are probably making something from it. Star Wars, Alien and Predator, Lord of the Rings, Terminator, and Marvel Comics just to name a few.
This review focuses on another of their big licenses. The fan favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer; well, more specifically, Faith the Vampire Slayer.
Faith here, flat out, has become one of my favorite Sideshow products ever produced. She is faithfully recreated from head to toe, and the box not only thoroughly recap the history of the character, but also provides an impressive background for Actress Eliza Dushku who portrays fait in the "Buffyverse"
Sideshow 12 inch figures are known for being insanely poseable, but Faith with her smaller more feminine frame, really delivers. just check out some of our pics. She can hold the crossbow with both hands without looking awkward. She can wield two weapons in badass fashion, or even pose her in battle with Sideshow's 12 inch Buffy or Angel.
Her outfit is also well done. Faith sports Black vinyl pants and vest, long sleeve white shirt, and Black stylish combat style boots that ensure she looks cool while kicking vampire ass!
Faith accessories included a Stake (natch), The Knife from her story arch at the end of Season 3 that is very well recreated here; a crossbow, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer Stand, always a nice way to display the figures.
Sideshow's exclusive limited edition of Faith also came with the Slayers Axe from the Final story arch in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. if you were not one of the first 500 to order though, you might as well just forget about it.
I know what you're thinking. "Come on, this thing can't be perfect, something has to be wrong with it??!!!" Ok, if I have to find one gripe about this figure, its that the likeness may be slightly off, but not so much to the point you really mind. I mean, Sideshow is one of the best at re-creating likenesses, and Faith her does bear the resemblance to Eliza so, it's not much of a gripe at all.
If you are a fan of the Buffyverse, Sideshow's Faith is definitely a piece you need to add to your collection.
MovieManiacs.net gives Sideshow's Faith the Vampire Slayer a well deserved 5 out 5.
