Changes on the Horizon
Well, I will go ahead and let you know that along with Series 3, some new and exciting stuff will be going on with the page as well. We have some surprises coming up brought about by the great crash suffered when our server was bought out and failed to notify us to change our links so get ready to book mark us once again.
We need your help though, we need to know what needs to be changed the most and what does and doesn't look good so please help us by partaking in our latest poll over there on your left, and if you have any other comments, suggestions, or you just want to show off your work and create something for the page, feel free to E-mail us
Thanks to all of you for your help in helping us take this step up.

if you are in the Rhode Island area, you may want to stop by Providence to check out the Gravity Games and check out the guys from McFarlane Toys. They will be in attendance with their interactive area featuring the latest in Toys, Comics and games.
If anyone is close or plans on attending please let us in on any news pics or info you happen to get. E-mail us here.
Latest Controversy Update
Just to update you on the ongoing saga started on the message board, Starjerk has mailed his actual receipt to me and as soon as it arrives I will scan it for all to see.
7-16-00
The Real Deal?
You be the judge, but it looks legit to me. It seems that our pal Starjerk, has actually found some Series 3 Maniacs. Click the above scan for a pic of the whole receipt and see for yourself.
I still wouldn't rush out just yet, because this may be some sort of shipping error, instead call around and check. If anyone finds anything out, I would appreciate you letting me and the other fans know. You can E-Mail me or post at the board.
I have contacted SJ about getting some figures and holding them for me since he lives kinda close so if he agrees, and everything is legit, we could have some pics soon.
Keep it here for the latest.

Series 3 Release Update
Just wanted to check in with you guys and tell you that I beat the path around my area today to check the status of Series 3. I couldn't find one out but my contact at EB told me they have them listed in their computer as being released August 15th.
Now we know this is more or less a "target date" but is usually a good measure. I am still nosing around trying to get the 411 for you guys so keep checking back
In the meantime go check out X-Men, it was actually very good and very well done.
7-13-00
Series 3 possibly in stores and on the way?
The Beyond stopped by the message board and let us know that when he stopped by his local EB to check the release dates for the maniacs, the status was "active" which usually means they are starting to ship or already out.
Later in the post a user claimed to have found Snake, Shaft, Ash, The Fly, and Ed at his local Spencer gifts. He also claimed they were $7.99. This may be true but I have not heard of Spencer's getting things in ahead of other places and I know I haven't heard of them selling anything that cheap. Anything is possible though.
Now , no way is any of this confirmed yet, so don't rush out all at once, instead you may want to give your local retailer a call and see what they and their computers have to say.
Meanwhile I am searching for other confirmations and have contacted Steve Hamady with McFarlane toys to get an official word on this.
7-12-00
What ever happened to Reagan?

I am sure many of you were wondering the same thing since it was announced late in Toy Fair that she was added. Well the original plan was to shoot her into Series 3 IF the Antihero's line got picked up. Unfortunately it hasn't yet so Reagan will now be a part of Movie Maniacs 4. Steve Hamaday with McFarlane Toys confirmed it today on the Spawn Message Board. So you Exorcist fans will just have to wait a little longer.
Thanks to Matt for the 411 on this.

Barker Fans finally get their wish!
CAGE just sent me some great news that was posted over at the Clive Barker Website. Here is what they have to say.
"A new line of action figures produced by Todd McFarlane Toys based on characters created by
Clive will debut at the 2001 toy fair in New York next March. Will we see one of
Pinhead?
They wouldn't say. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!"
This is amazing and wonderful news, now not only is it possible that we have Pinhead and possibly Candyman figures, but since it does mention a "line" of figures, it could possibly include Cenobytes and Nightbreeds as well anything else from Clive. This is VERY inspiring and exciting news! Feel free to head over to the Board to discuss.

Scream 3 out on DVD today
I stopped by my local Blockbuster to check out the extras on the Scream 3 DVD since I am waiting to buy it in the Boxed set coming in September.
The DVD features a full lineup including Outtakes, a Behind the Scenes Montage from all 3 films, 4 Deleted Scenes, an Outtake ending (called alternate on the disc but it is not different enough to be considered alternate) as well as trailers, TV spots, Music Video and Soundtrack Commercial. There is also Commentary from Wes Craven, the Editor and one of the producers.
As far as the extras go they are good but not outstanding. The Deleted scenes are forgettable, 2 of the 4 are alternate versions of the films opening. The Alternate ending was a letdown because it was not very different at all. I was hoping for a different killer, or more deaths, but nothing as landmark as that is included.
The TV spots are unreal. There are tons of them and they are all very similar.
The commentary is good though and is worth a listen and the deleted scenes and ending have commentary option as well which I always love.
All in all if you are a fan of the series it would be worth picking up, but if you have been holding out like me until they produce something better you will want to wait until the Scream Trilogy Boxed set is released this September.

The Simpson's Go Horror!

Our good friends at RTM have shared this great news and these awesome pics with us about the Upcoming Simpson's Treehouse of Horror exclusive set.
according to RTM the set will be exclusive to Toys R Us and will be released this September
The set features a Springfield Cemetery play
environment, fully Intelli-tronic of course, and best of all four exclusive Simpsons
action figures that can only be found in this set. There
are also some cool extras that you will recognize if you are a fan of
the show such as the Psycho Krusty Doll and the Goblin that tormented
Bart on the School Bus in a tribute to the famous Twilight Zone Story.
The figures included in this set are Homer as King Kong; Mr. Burns as Dracula;
Bart as The Fly; Ned Flanders as the Devil.
Each Intelli-Tronic Simpsons action figure will say several random phrases from
the Simpsons annual Halloween special "Treehouse of Horror" when connected
to the base.
The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror gift set is scheduled for a mid-September
release, in plenty of time for Halloween!"
For a closer look at any one of the figures just click them in the above pic.
Once again, Special thanks goes out to

7 Days and Counting
You've seen the ads like crazy, and if you have been to a movie recently then you've probably seen the even funnier trailer.
One week from today marks the opening for SCARY MOVIE, the latest in the genre of Satire films that tackles a long overdue subject, Horror Movies. In the early 80's there were a couple of amusing attempts, Student Bodies probably being the best, but this time the films parodies such films as Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Halloween, The Matrix and many others. There is also a very talented cast, and the project comes from the ultra talented Wayans Brothers.
If the movie is half as entertaining as the trailers, it will be huge!
If you live in a cave or are just really busy and haven't gotten a chance to check out the trailer then just click the above Poster to head to the official site and check it out.

Make your voice heard
I know you guys would love to have a say in what figures McFarlane makes, where here is a chance of sorts. It is to decide what CLUB EXCLUSIVES McFarlane should make. Here is CHET with McFarlane with the 411 from the Spawn Board.
That's right, it's C.H.E.T. time!
This month, you have to come up with the top FOUR choices you want to see as figures made
exclusively for the club... Your top two ORIGINAL figures and your
top two figures you'd like to see as an exclusive
repaint.
I will compile all the answers and send them along to Todd with our previous list, so he can decide
on toys for next year. Here are the rules:
1) All entries must be e-mailed to toyclub@mcfarlane.com Posting them
on the board will not work, I want them in my inbox.
2) ONLY two figures should be suggested for both categories:
ALL NEW and EXCLUSIVE
REPAINT.
Entries with more than TWO figures listed in either category will be cheerfully ignored,
and you have no chance of winning.
3) All entires must come with your ACTUAL NAME and
GROUND ADDRESS included the
message. If you win, you'll want me to mail the prize somewhere, right?
4) Only one entry per person (see rule number 3). No stuffing the ballot box, or I'll sic Steve on you!
5) Rule number five has been replaced by Rule number 8.
6) The contest ends on July 6th. I will remind people now and then and keep bring this up to the top.
Entries received after midnight July 6th will have their electrons shredded.
7) Decisions of the Judge in the random drawing of prizes are final, and involve small bits of paper
and a hat shaped like a Whale (don't ask).
8) See Rule number 5.
Depending on the number of entries, everyone will receive SOME sort of prize. At random, I will
choose someone to get a homemade Spawn clock, a Spawn vinyl logo, some window clings, a
custom-made Chet toy, a rare black and white Spawn comic, a black and white Creech #1 AND
Creech MotorCityCon preview special, or a Total Eclipse comic featuring bios of many Spawn
characters.
So get cracking, send along some suggestions, and I'll keep you all updated.

Series 3's First Variation
Well finally we have some news. about a month and a half to go until Series 3's release and we already have our first official variation.
TOM wrote in to share with us some information he received from McFarlane's own Steve the Victim.
Apparently there will be 2 versions of the Snake Plissken figure released; one with a trench coat and one without.
The original concept was to have a removable trench coat, and technically, according to Steve, you can remove it, it's just that there is possible damage risk to the figure in doing so. So McFarlane elected to release 2 versions, probably to avoid a lot of customer returns if their figures broke. Good call!
On a separate note., in case you were curious, the Shaft figure WILL come with removable shades and the ASH figure has been "tweeked", no word on how yet.

King Kong Preview

Reader TR573 sent us in a scan of an ad for the upcoming King Kong figure that revealed a few things, including a good look at this exciting work of art.
First,
it appears that, in addition to Faye Wray, Kong will come with his Steel
captivity platform, restraining bar and shackles.
The figures is also listed as being a limited edition! It is not known yet in what way, but as soon as we find out we will let you know.
Click the pic for a close up look.
Scream
Trilogy tops Box office records.
Well, this little shot from Entertainment Weekly says it all. According to Dimension, the Scream series has made more money than any other horror series.
Of course the great problem comes in that this is in modern day dollars. If you factor in the time/inflation factor I am fairly certain it wouldn't be quite as on top. It would be interesting to find out though so if you think you have some insight on how to figure this out, then please feel free to E-mail me.

Jason's New Look
BEYOND sent in this scan of a newspaper article featuring a look at the new Jason from the upcoming 10th chapter of the Friday the 13th saga "Jason X".
Jason has a slightly altered look but still looks good, especially after surviving in during a post apocalyptic Ice age on earth. Of course technology may have advanced, but there will always be stupid teenagers that want to take back a frozen guy in a Hockey mask as a souvenir. When will they ever learn.
Click Jason for a bigger look.

McFarlane hits the Big Screen Big Time!
Well it has been quite a week for the good folks at McFarlane toys. They have accomplished many great things in the past but recent events can certainly be looked upon as a milestone in the company's history.
First of all, since we are a Horror type site, we will talk about McFarlane's exclusive deal with Artisan Pictures to the rights to create figures based on Artisan projects through 2003. First up in this deal will be McFarlane's attempt at a figure or possibly figures, of the Blair Witch. The sequel is filming now and a 3rd movie will be a prequel will start filming shortly.
Below are some shots from Blair Witch 2 from Entertainment Weekly as well as a Haunting Art Print celebrating the McFarlane Toys, Blair Witch Union.
No word yet on if the guys will take a shot at creating the original 3 characters. McFarlane's always tried to stay away from characters that were "too human" but with recent events I would say anything is possible. They would make a nice boxed set. (Hint Hint) If you agree, check out the Poll over there on your left. Also no word on if any of the characters pictured above will make it to the action figure process.
Ok, next, McFarlane takes on Adam Sandler! Yep, after months of speculation, McFarlane has announced the will produce figures from Sandler's new film "Little Nicky" in which Adam plays one of the sons of the Devil who must stop his brothers from creating hell on earth...literally. The Movie also has a huge all star cast (most of which should be cameos) Check out the list HERE.
Click the above pic for a look at the Prototype figure of Adam's "Nicky" with his sidekick wisecracking dog Beefy and check out the rest of the story HERE.
Lastly, Dreamworks has tapped McFarlane to do the entire line of Toys from their upcoming film Shrek. Here is the Synopsis from McFarlane Toys:
Featuring the voice talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Jonathan Lithgow,
Shrek! tells the tale of a cynical, no-nonsense ogre named Shrek whose swamp is overrun by annoying
fairytale creatures. In an attempt to save his home, Shrek sets out to confront Lord Farquaad, ruler of
Duloc, who has banished all the fairytale misfits from Duloc in order to create his own perfect world.
Along the way, Shrek is befriended by a wise-cracking donkey, sent to slay a fire-breathing dragon and
save a beautiful princess with a deep, dark secret...just your usual fractured fairytale stuff in this
irreverent new comedy from the creators of Antz.
Some may remember that this was originally a Chris Farley vehicle. Sadly Farley only had a small percentage of his lines recorded when he died so the studio was forced to hire on a new leading voice actor.
For the rest of the details on McFarlane's big deal Click Here.
Looking ahead, Blair Witch Kid Heather Donahue turns up this weekend at the movies in the new film Boys and Girls, but McFarlane fans will also want to check out "Movie Maniac" SHAFT also opening this weekend.
The new price guide is coming and I will try to dig up some other stuff for ya as well.
!!! SPENCER'S ALERT !!!
I stopped by a Spencer Gifts this weekend and was amazed to find that they had the 18" Talking Ghostface Doll on sale for only $14.99! A Great deal!
I will have a variation report on him soon.
