The Mysterious Sticker
Wow, here's a newsworthy thing I completely forgot about. Many of you have been wondering just what the deal is with the stickers. Why weren't they originally on there? Does it affect the value? Is it a secret way to tell the difference between variations? Well, here is the word from the Pride of McFarlane toys,. Steve Hamaday.
The stickers weren't ready for the first wave and they were just for looks. They were added when they showed up. It had nothing to do with the corrected version or variations.
I Don't see the stickers having an effect on the value of the figures since the first ones came without and all you have to do is pull off the sticker. plus the figure is the same anyway.
New Case Assortment.
Now that Chucky is shipping the case assortments have changed somewhat. As always there is probably more than one assortment, but the one I got a report on breaks down like this:
one Chucky, one bates, one PUMPKINHEAD, and 3 Crows, 3 Ghostface, and 3 Mikes.

I'm not sure who or where ordered the entire case of Chucky, but that is the best shot at finding him right now. If you saw anywhere that got a lot of the initial line in, you may want to keep checking. If anyone sees an abundance of Chucky be sure to let us know where.

Halloween Month
Bride of Chucky Pics
RAY has sent us some cool pics of the Bride of Chucky Boxed set from the Plano, TX Sci-Fi Convention.
We have also added Scans of the Cards for all the new Maniacs except Chucky and scans of the stickers for Chucky and the Crow as well to their respective pages.
John at Hobby Xpress tells us that they now have Techno Spawn in stock and ready to ship. They also have Bride of Chucky in stock and ready to ship.
They are expecting a 125 cases of Movie Maniacs by Monday 11/1 so all orders will be shipping then. Also, Beatles Yellow Submarine figures are in stock and shipping now."

A Very Mouthy Gal
Jason sent us this scan of his Eve figure that is packaged with 2 open mouthed heads as opposed to the usual One closed and one open. It also appears that only one has horns. It's just a packaging mistake, as confirmed by Steve from McToys, I just thought it was a nice conversation piece.

We got a great E-mail the other day from ANGELO who met Todd, the man, McFarlane at a Toys R Us Grand Opening in Arizona.
Angelo asked Todd, who would be in the line up for Series 3 of the Movie Maniacs, and I am happy to say Todd threw out 4 of the names. They are none other than...

It has been spotted at Electronics Boutique and Spencer Gifts says there's should be hitting anytime now, also check Babbages and Software Etc. stores.
Suncoast and Media Play stores are doing reserves for $5 down and they will let you know when it arrives, they also expect theirs in by the end of the month.

Bloody Bootlegs
I have received a lot of mail lately pertaining to pics of supposed Bloody versions of Series 2 figures seen on Ebay.
First let me say, questioning things on Ebay is always a good thing. Secondly let me assure you that these are customized figures and not done by McFarlane toys. Someone got the figures, opened them,. customized them and repackaged them. They are trying to make some easy money and make mine and McFarlane's jobs much harder.
So, THERE IS NO BLOODY VARIATION OF SERIES 2 done by McFarlane. Anyone claiming so has customized figures.
A nice little Halloween Item I thought I would mention are the Universal Monster characters available exclusively at CVS Pharmacies. There are Beanie sized creatures available for $5.99 and a bigger size of the plush Monsters for $12.99 I believe. If you are a Universal fan it is something to check out.

JASON gets the Collectors Treatment
I have just received word that Spencer Gifts is getting ready to release a brand new 18" Collectors Doll in the tradition of Michael Myers, Cryptkeeper and Freddy. The next doll is who else but JASON VORHEES in all his 18" glory.
Anyone who has seen or has any of the previous dolls knows that they are a collectors dream come true and Jason will fit right in.
He is expected to be released by the end of the month, making the Perfect Halloween gift. No pictures yet, but when I get some they will be put up immediately.

Looking for more places to find the Maniacs, well I have got a couple of reports that the Virgin Megastore are carrying them. This includes London. Also, HMV stores have been reported to have them.

In the SHAME ON YOU section. I got a report that a store in Toronto called The Wizard of Centerpoint Mall is selling Maniacs for upwards of $30 apiece. This is taking advantage of collectors and citizens of Toronto need not worry, your regular retail stores are sure tog et the Maniacs in eventually.

Halloween Month
Chucky Unleashed
I have been getting reports now that the Chucky Figure is hitting stores. Also, it appears that some of the figures are shipping with a sticker on the package. I am not yet sure if this may be a way to tell the difference between the originals and the corrected ones, but I am looking to find out. The bad news is that for some reason they are only shipping 1 or 2 per case. This will of course change along the way, but I would rather have more now than more later since the demand is up now!
The Bride set is still being worked on but is only a short time away so have faith and patience.
Also on a surprising note. it is available in London and Europe as well. ALLIGATOR sent in some pics of the figure with some additional stickers and such.

On a similar note I am beginning to see the Bride of Chucky Dolls mentioned earlier in Spencer Gifts Stores. They are really not too bad looking.. They have also re released the Michael Myers doll we have mentioned several times in a new bloody version. I guess since they were limited and numbered dolls the originals sold out and this new version in a new box was released, that's not official, just a guess.
Anyway, the new version is the same as the old except on his knife hand there is blood added and also bloody bulletholes in his jumpsuit.
If anyone picks this up, I would love some scans or pics.
Also, Freddy Gloves, a classic and well worth it accessory, are available at Spencers and Target Stores.

damaged. After calling customer service regarding the poor condition of my original
set, I was able to order another set. I was told by the rep that she would inform
the warehouse of the situation and try to ship cards in better condition. They
arrived today, in record time, and in pristine condition.

I just got the word that This Christmas KB Toys will have the exclusive on the Freddy Vs. Jason 2 pack.
Great news also, the set will come in one of McFarlane's beautiful Display cases (non lighted). It is said to have a new base and diorama, but no word on any changes to the figures themselves. Also no word on price, but I did hear that they should be shipping out from Hong Kong in November so they should hit the stores just in time for the heat of the Christmas shopping season.
Spencer Gifts is also giving out Lottery Style Contest tickets to promote the Halloween season.
The Grand Prize is a trip to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando.
First Prize is $100 Gift Certificates for Spencer Gifts

Welcome to October, and as Movie Maniac Month ends, the celebration continues into Halloween Month.
We will continue to bring you all the latest on the Maniacs as well as pointing out some of the more interesting Halloween things around.
And in case you are wondering, All the type here for this month will be Orange. After Halloween we will return to the normal spooky purple color.

Well, Horror movies are popping up in grosses, your favorite stores have added all kinds of cool stuff to their inventory, and there is a slight chill in the air. It can only mean one thing...
HALLOWEEN SEASON IS UPON US!
This is without a Doubt one of my favorite times of the year and I will try to highlight some of the cooler things I see out there. Let's get things off right with a store that has been doing the Halloween thing with Class ever since I was a lad.
I got a report recently that the Exclusive SCREAM headliner has arrived at Spencer's. The Michael Myers should be shipping as well. These are exclusive to Spencer Gift Stores and are $15, but as I learned with the exclusive Austin Powers Headliners, they may be soon lowered to $10 if sales are slow.
They are not on the Spencer's website yet, but I did find this nifty thing that a lot of people have been asking about.
It is a decent looking Chucky Doll made by Sideshow Toys. It is 16" and is listed on the website at $32.00. This might be finally a decent looking close to life size Chucky Doll people have been wanting, and who can blame them after seeing that Danny Bonaduce looking Chucky doll for so long. (You can check out that version on the pic below)
And Finally, Spencer's has an in store sort of Advertiser for Halloween. Chucky is their Halloween Mascot, and is featured on the cover (Above) This is one of the inlay pages that was particular Maniac looking.
Maniacs showing up more and more.
Andy wrote in and let us know that the Maniacs are hitting KB Toys now. Still the same basic case assortment and still no Chucky yet.
Also, Mr. X had this to say for collectors trying to find the figures in Europe:
I've just bought all MM figures in a European hobby shop, for normal prices. I have Norman, the bloody versions of Jason, Freddy and Leatherface... it's a great shop. It has almost every action figure in existence, including out-of-print stuff that sells for ridiculously high prices in US (like the original Puppet Master Blade figures). Sorry, I can't give away the name - I want to buy more things there and wouldn't like people buying everything out.
My hint for all MM fans would be: visit Europe and take a look at shops there, particularly in Middle and ex-East Europe and Germany. The interest in the figures is smaller there than in US, so there's no "out of stock" problem. The shop I bought the figures in has its branches in Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, and Austria.
Collectors Club Maniacs shipping fast and hard.
I have gotten several reports from people who have already received their Series 1 Maniacs from the McFarlane Toys Collectors Club they are shipping fast but more than a few are showing up on bent or damaged cards so Caveat Emptor (or Buyer Beware to you modern folks).
Chet with McToys says it is the shipping that does it, Customer Service claims that many were Damaged when they got them, who knows for sure. Chet does promise though that they weed out all the really bad ones.

Out With a Bang
Well, since this is the last day of September it means that tomorrow Movie Maniacs Month will be no more. I hope you have enjoyed the coverage and little extras we've supplied throughout the month of September.
Don't get to upset though because tomorrow we will start an all new Specialty month, and we will continue to try and bring you some interesting things on top of the latest news and developments in the Maniacs Line.
Tyler Sent us this shot of the rare variant Ghostface poster. Great job on the scan sine I'm sure it was difficult to scan through the package.
This is the one to keep your eyes out for.
Prepare for CHUCKY
Chucky should be hitting stores somewhere between October 5th-10th I have learned that since the correction to the figure was a running change some of the uncorrected versions will make their way into stores. I also learned that it is extremely difficult to tell the difference between the 2. The only info there is to spotting them is the original's arms are just slightly longer (Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/8 of an inch or so) and the right hand is bigger.
I also got confirmation that The Bride of Chucky Boxed set will come with a Marquee stand just like the other Maniacs.
Both should be out in stores within the next week or two.
If you have read the current Workshop on series 3 choices then you know about my difficulty coming up with an accessory for Edward Scissorhands.
Well, I got an E-mail from JAY and he really nailed it.
A perfect, not to mention striking accessory for Ed would be the Ice Sculpture of Winonna Rider's Character Kim.

HOBBY XPRESS has been taken over by MANIACS!
Our good friend John with Hobby Xpress wrote to us today and not only do they now have the Bride of Chucky set available for pre-order, but they have 100 CASES OF MANIACS coming in around October 5th! These cases are supposed to contain Chucky as well!
They sold the first shipment out COMPLETELY so head there now to make sure you get a piece of this next shipment.
As I said above, they also now have the Bride of Chucky boxed set now available to pre order so head there for that as well.

We now have reports that Series 2 is showing up at Media Play and Suncoast Stores for $9.99. This also means they may start showing up at some of Media Play's Sister stores also. Keep an eye out at Sam Goody, MusicLand, and On Cue in addition to Media Play.

Also, Eric Johnson reports that his local Spencer's had a different case count than the first releases. Here is how the 2nd cases were packed.

There are also reports that the Spencer's Exclusive GHOSTFACE and MICHAEL MYERS Headliners are showing up at a whopping $15 apiece. You may want to take a lesson from the Exclusive Austin Powers heads which are now reduced to $10 due to slow sales.

The Maniacs Stalk Toys R US
I got a report in today from a Toys R Us Employee in Southern California who said his store got a whopping 10 cases of the Maniacs in. 3 cases were sent to the floor to put out and 7 were put up for back stock.
The cases are marked as Ultra Action Figures, in case you are looking at unopened boxes. The quantities match the numbers below and they are only $7.99 each.
So get out there and Check your local Toys R Us today!

VARIANT ALERT!
Here's another big Variant, and it has to do with Ghostface.
It seems that the Ghostface figure was supposed to come with a poster in his stand that featured his face and the words GHOSTFACE at the bottom.
Instead there was a mix up and more versions were packaged with the SCREAM movie poster. I'm not sure which will be the rarer in the long run, but Steve, wit McFarlane Toys claims right now it's the Ghostface poster.
"The Scream poster is the incorrect one, but there will be a lot more of them, than the Ghostface poster. It was supposed to be Ghostface, they got it crossed up. "
If anyone has the Ghostface poster, I need to have a scan for the page. Also, please report any other Variants and stores you see the Maniacs at.

Well, Halloween is upon us and it is one of my favorite times of the year for Novelties and Costumes and such. One of my favorite things to do is make a list of all the cool stuff and then go out the Day after Halloween and Stock up on half-off Goods.
This however was a cool exception. It is a cheap plastic and rubber, Glow in the Dark replica of the SCREAM Knife. It is by fun world, who does the grand majority of the Halloween/Scream related products. I even noticed on the Costume this year it is labeled as the Scream Stalker. Anyway, they make some cool stuff and it can all be found pretty cheap at your local Drugstores, Wal-Mart type stores, basically anyone with a Half decent supply of Halloween goods.
I got the knife here at CVS Pharmacies and it was only .99 cents.

And so it begins...The guys at McFarlane Toys have informed me that the Second Series of Movie Maniacs will begin shipping NEXT WEEK!
After that it's usually between a few days and a week before you see them in stores so get your money ready!
We will be keeping you up to date as to what stores are carrying the Maniacs as we see them or it is reported to us. We will do our best to bring you prices and such as well.

ALoveg7263 sent us an interesting E-mail the other day asking why the Leatherface figure had no Peg holes in his feet.
Ashamedly enough, I didn't fully realize this before so I checked mine out and realized it was the same way. So I took the question to Chet and Steve with McFarlane, and they informed us that the workers simply forgot to put them in.
Just an interesting little Maniac fact that I hadn't realized before.
CORRECTION
Steve (the victim) Hamaday with McFarlane toys wrote me and told me that the problem with the Chucky figures was that the arms were too LONG not short, as previously reported. Also, the size of one of his hands had to be reduced.

MANIACS MONTH BEGINS
Well, here we go, it's September, and we are only a few short weeks away from the Debut of Movie Maniacs Series 2.
We will be celebrating all month long and even introduce the first of our contests to celebrate. Hopefully we will be thinking of some other surprises along the way.
You can now PRE ORDER the Maniacs from our Affiliate HOBBY XPRESS. They have some very reasonable prices and if you order the whole set, it ends up being less than $10 a figure not including shipping. That's what you'd pay in the majority of stores, if not more.
