Gremlins
Series 1 on Card!

Everyone knows the dangers of
exposing a Gremlin to the light but we had to shed some light on
how these little bad boys were gonna look carded. Luckily, they
are covered in plastic, so there is no real chance of them getting
wet. Here are NECA's first series of Gremlins in packaging: Gizmo,
Brain, Poker Player and Stripe. Watch for these on shelves in late
July.

WANTED:
Diehard fans!
So you think you're a diehard Hellraiser fan? Well if you are
reading this,
you most probably are. However, how deep do your pins go?
We here at
www.HellraiserTheMovie.com feel we should test your creativity and
loyalty
to the Prince of pain and his cohorts. Even though we probably
SHOULD punish
you, instead we shall reward you handsomely, simply because, well,
we at
NECA are some pretty handsome people.
Here's the deal: We want to be flattered, impressed, and humbled
by the fans
of the movies and figures. The way to show it is quite simple. Set
up your
Hellraiser figures in the most elaborate and creative setup you
can, and
take a picture of it. You can use other figures from other
licenses as well
within the scenes, but urge you to use all the Hellraiser figures
you have.
Need any ideas? Well the use of creative lighting, backdrops, even
fog could
help this one out. Just go insane and have fun with it, but
remember, the
grand prizewinner will be judged on the overall quality and
creativity of
their collection photo(s).
Now of course, you are wondering what you win. The grand
prizewinner will
win a Convention Exclusive Pewter Pinhead and a Bloody Wire Twins
Exclusive
3 pack. The runner-ups will be getting some goodies as well, but
that's not
quite as important right now. You guys don't want to be glorified
losers;
you want to be the sole king (or queen) of Hell's ring. Do your
damn best to
make us proud!

NECA’s
Hellraiser Series 1 Sells Out!
Kenilworth, NJ—June
5, 2003 – NECA is proud to
announce the complete sell out of the Reel Toys Hellraiser
Series I line. The reports are in after 3 weeks of hitting store
shelves that Hellraiser is the #1 selling item at several major
mall retailers as well as the #1 item on Entertainment Earth along
with a number of other toy e-tailers.
Part of the success of the line is due
to the way the case assortments are packed out. This broke down to
14 figures per case, 2 complete sets and 2 extra Pinheads. This
gave the retailers the opportunity to sell through cases without
being stuck with an odd amount of figures.
Randy Falk-Director of Product
Development said “We wanted to do everything we could to insure
that the fans and collectors would be able to find the figures
they are looking for. That is why we packed our figures 14 per
case instead of 12. It's obvious that everyone, even the casual
fan, will want Pinhead so we needed more of him. We wanted to pack
2 each of the regular Cenobites and 4 Pinheads. It is a very fair
mix so there is 2 complete sets in each case plus 2 extra
Pinheads. The reports we are getting from retailers and fans is
very positive to our case mix.”
The sheer magnitude of the response
that we have received has exceeded our expectations, there will be
no more figures made of Series I so we can begin to gear up for
Series II.
Series II will ship in October 2003.
And if you thought the “Lament Configuration” (Puzzle Box) was a
cool accessory and incentive to collect all 6 figures, just wait
to see what comes with Series II.

Revenge
of the Mummy headed for Universal Orlando

It's been long rumored, and now we
have confirmed with our own eyes that they ride taking the place
of the beloved Kongfrontation will be "Revenge of The Mummy".
Whether the ride has ties to a
planned film hasn't been announced, but it sure would be
convenient way to market both, and a great title for the trilogy's
next chapter.
What has been said is that the
ride will be like nothing ever seen before, combining 3D film
usage with and exciting coasteresque type ride. By
description it seems that it may be the next evolution of the
Amazing Spider Man ride at Universal's Islands of Adventure park
which broke new ground in the theme park ride experience.
Look for 'Revenge of the Mummy' to
open in 2004, but until then you can check out the park's 2 newest
rides, Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon blast, a fantastic update of the
old Hanna-Barberra ride, and Shrek 4D which opens in June.
And in case you missed our coverage of 'Kongfrontation's final
celebration, you can check it out

Hellraiser
by Comparison

So the big
concern since fans learned that NECA would be doing the Hellraiser
figures that they have longed for so bad was that they wouldn't
measure up to their already established collection of Movie
Maniacs and/or Tortured Souls.
So now that
Hellraiser is upon us, and we can see the physical product for
ourselves, does the quality match McFarlane's? Do they
measure up in scale? The answer is Yes, impressively so, and
if you don't believe me, check out the above pictures.
I apologize
that the pics aren't the clearest, but you can see from them that
the line stands perfectly in scale with both established McFarlane
lines, and blends in nicely to any collection.
Want more
opinions? Disagree? Then enter The
Asylum and let your voice be heard, not only by fans, but by
the people that made the figures themselves.

Entertainment Weekly
has long been arguably the best Entertainment Magazine on the

highlighting the films that people are really wanting to see, and

weeks offering, an issue highlighting the greatest cult films of
all time! All your favorites are in there and more, plus
they got classic cult film actors to come in for a photo shoot.

St. Hubbins, and adding a little bit of the new, Andrew Bryniarski

played in different movies, or as Zangief in Jean Claude Can
Damme's Street Fighter. Now taking bets on how long will it

Game
Watch: The Suffering

It goes without saying that most
Horror fans are also fans of Survival Horror Games, and these
days, when a SH Games stands out to potentially bring something
new to the table other than the same old formula, we feel the need
to let you know. One such game, that's still early in the
development stage is The Suffering.
In the Suffering you play as
Torque, a Death Row inmate in a post WWII prison who is reflecting
on the Murders of his Wife and Son, when mysterious killing start
happening around him. Guards and Inmates are being
Eviscerated by unseen assailants, and one day, the door to your
cell swings open.
Here's where the game begins and
hits it's creative stride. You must make your way through
the prison, trying to figure out just what the hell is going on.
You'll battle monsters based on various methods of execution.
Weapons will include everything from a Tommy Gun to
Home-made prison Shivs.
You can either play the game as a
ruthless killer, tearing your way through the place, or as a good
guy, and depending on how you play, the story will change.
You don't know if you're innocent or guilty after all!
Check Midway's Site for other info,
and a trailer by
Clicking Here.
We'll try to have more on this as
we hear it, but right now the game is scheduled for an October
release on all of the big 3 systems.
