How many of you are planning to get the 12-inch Chucky exclusive from McFarlane Toys? Show of hands…
Well then, you might be interested in this. It has been announced that Sideshow Toys is planning to release a 16-inch version of Tiffany, from BRIDE OF CHUCKY. The figure will come wearing her wedding gown and biker jacket much like the McFarlane version of MM2-boxed-set fame. She should be in stores in late September/early October of 2001, and cost about thirty dollars. Enjoy. Chaou --Rassputin

Updates for 8-07
A new picture of Movie Maniacs 4 was published in Lee's Toy Review. It show's the most revealing picture of the resculpted T-800 to date. Thanks to Macbeth of the Spawn Board for the heads up and the pic. -Badism
Updates for 8-06 Check it out: Pictures of new 'Beetlejuice' figures, now available for your perusal at Really Scary. These harsh little mothers are coming exclusively to Musicland. Each is a robust 8" tall and retails for $14.95. The lineup includes Adam and Barbara (in face-stretched "scary" mode), the infamous shrunken head fella, the smoking guy, and of course, the one and only Ghost with the Most. Be on the lookout for them this September. Kudos to 'Chudmeister' from the board for tipping us off. - Bishop E! News had an interview with director Brett
Rattner about 'Rush Hour 2', in which Rattner stated that he will indeed be helming the new Hannibal Lecter prequel, 'Red Dragon.' Ratner's involvement has been rumored for the past three months. The Thomas Harris novel 'Red Dragon,' for those unaware, was previously made into the movie 'Manhunter.' - Bishop Viewers of 'Angel' know Winifred Burkle as the young lass that Angel found trapped in another dimension during the end of last season. Now that our heroes have rescued her, Fred, as played by Amy Acker, is going to be a regular cast member in the third season, complete with her own slot in the opening credits. Break out the tacos. - Bishop Spoilers for the ninth season premiere of 'The X-Files', titled "Nothing Important Happened Today" and written by executive producers Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, are starting to appear online. Among the tidbits are some hints as to how David Duchovny's departure from the series will be handled, plus some info on a new agent being tossed into the mix. Check out the Idealists' Haven spoiler page for the full skinny. - Bishop Updates for 8-05 After a day of frantic searching, there are still no signs of the Tortured Souls. Thankfully though, I did not come back empty handed. I picked up the Tim Roth/Mr. Orange, Reservoir Dogs figure at Tower Records and I must say it is sweet! This line gets better and better by the moment. Can't wait for a Series 2. Anyway, CLICK HERE if you want to check out the Dogs, including the fresh new scans of Mr. Orange and a couple of new scans for the other two. Mr. White is still at large. On a latter note by the way, I caught the film MADE today and I must say, if you were a fan of swingers then you need to see this flick ASAP!!! Check out the site HERE. Updates for 8-02 The title says it all, a couple of days ago I was able to pick up 2 of the figures in this great new line. I have scanned them up and built the section, so it is now ready for your viewing pleasure. Just CLICK HERE to access it. I haven't got a case count yet, but I got mine at EB but the only ones they received were Mr. Pink and Mr. Blonde. I will have scans of the other 2 up as soon as I can get my hands on them, in the meantime, if there are any specific scans you want to see, feel free to e-mail us -Russ37 Updates for 7-30 The two-hour UPN premiere of 'Buffy' won't air until October, but you can read all about it thanks to these HEAVY SPOILERS from AICN. Ain't-It-Cool is, of course, notoriously unreliable on all fronts, and undoubtedly is one of the worst entertainment news sites on the 'net. And yet, these particular spoilers have been confirmed by various news pieces from numerous other sources. They also fit with everything known about the sixth season so far. In short: Check 'em out. They may very well be right. - Bishop Since it hasn't been posted yet, it should be mentioned that the official Halloween site has announced the release date of 'Halloween: The Homecoming.' Michael will kill again come September 21st. - Bishop Tasteless headline yes, but true nonetheless. Our good friend and all around good guy
Randy of
Ask Randy recently posted on our message board that SideshowToys will be adding Army of Darkness to their Ever growing list of 12 Inch figures. Not much is known on the line, but since they went to the trouble of Pluralizing it, we figure we should see a 12 inch Ash and Evil Ash out of the deal. The figures should be impressive considering Sideshows superb Sculptors whose work can recently be seen on the just released 12 inch Buffy the Vampire Slayer Figures. Sideshow
also releases Universal Monsters, the newly acquired Outer Limits and other popular lines.-Russ 37 Updates for 7-28 McFarlane Toys has announced its final two exclusive figures for the year... and among them is the expected 12-inch Chucky, styled after the "Child's Play 2" fig rather than the mutilated "Bride of Chucky" form. He comes with a "voodoo knife," and has six points of articulation. You can click on the pic to get a view of the 12-inch Chuckster in detail, and you can also go to this link to see the announcement of him and the other upcoming exclusive, a 12-inch figure of that KISS rocker Gene Simmons. Gene will be available at Spencer's, while Chucky will be on shelves at Tower Records, comic shops, Babbages, Spencer's, Hot Topic, and other such special retailers. Expect them in mid-October. Thanks go out to carter1010 for the heads-up. - Bishop Updates for 7-26 A banner has turned up on a Arnold fan site. It has given us our first close up look of the re- sculpted
T-800. Acceptable compromise or waste of plastic...you decide. We will have more pix up, as soon as they become available. -Badism Recently rumors have been flying that the reason Mcfarlane Toys re-sculpted the head of the
T-800 figure was because of a problem with the license in regard to Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness. Well it turn's out it's all true. Here is a post made on the Spawn board by Steve the Victim himself: My guess, is that some of you missed the other post on this matter, so I'll give you the info again .We had TWO correct heads ready to go. One damaged and one undamaged. ARNOLD, let me repeat that, ARNOLD will not let us use his likeness. It has something to do with an upcoming movie deal. That, is the reason for the change. Not our fault and certainly not our choice. I'm sure you all know very well by now, we want to give you what you want! Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way. You'll still know who it is, he'll just have a bit more damage than in the movie. At any rate, it's far better then having no T-800 at all. In my opinion, of course! :c) ------------------"Steve the Victim"Operations ManagerMcFarlane Design Group We will try to show you pictures of the new
T-800 as soon as possible. As always' you can discuss this, or any other horror related topic at our message board -Badism Updates for 7-21 I also came across a picture of the BTILC prototypes at Figures.com. Click the link and check it out. -Badism Figures.com is now giving us our first look at Hardened Series 2. They are unpainted sculpts, and although they didn't knock my sock's off...they do seem to be a *bit* better then what we are used to seeing from N2. Have a look for yourself by clicking the link above. -Badism Well, I think this proves that N2 toys does indeed watch our Message board and the Spawn board for new ideas. Many people who have been to this Year's comic con have claimed to have seen Big Trouble in Little China figure's at N2's booth. While not allowed to photograph them; they did say they saw 7 inch figure's of Jack Burton, Wang, Egg
Shen, David Lopan and Lightning. While I do have a glimmer of hope for these figures, I find it hard to get excited after seeing recent N2 effort's like Mad Max and Hardened. Speaking of Hardened: Attendee's also got a look at Series two, what they saw were Steve Mcqueen of
"Bullit", Leon from "The Professional", El Mariachi from "Desperado" and Travis Bickle from "Taxi Driver". I don't know about the rest of you...but I'm going to say a little prayer for N2 Toy's to get a whole lot better at what they do...and fast. -Badism Updates for 7-19 Slamming into theaters with all the subtlety of a freight train, 'Jurassic Park 3' sucked up $19 million on its opening day, the second largest Wednesday opening in history. Only 'Star Wars: Episode I' has topped it. If you've already seen JP3, you may be interested to know that the scripted ending was not exactly what we got. For anyone who hasn't gone, this link is a MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT for the whole film - don't read if you haven't seen it! - but if you've already checked it out, the curious can read the last two pages of the script at this link. - Bishop You probably already know that MGM is making new DVDs of Hopkins' two outings as Hannibal "The Cannibal"
Lecter, but you may NOT know that the DVDs will both feature deleted scenes - including some on the 'Silence' disk that were not on the Criterion release. If you want to download a few samples for yourself, check this site out. - Bishop Updates for 7-18 Well ladies and germs, if you don’t already know, you must have been living under a rock for the past half year: Jurassic Park 3 is out in theaters today!!! The Steven Spielberg (Hook, Columbo: Murder By The Book, and Duel) produced, Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer, The Pagemaster ) directed film pits the infamous Alan Grant, from the first movie, against the Dinosaurs one more time around. Along for the ride are William H. Macy, Tea Leoni and other two-legged, Dino Kibble. The ensemble cast must fight to stay alive for the duration of the 94-minute movie. Will this latest installment in the “Jurassic Park’ series live up to the previous two? Only time will tell. Anyways, why are you still here? Go out and see it! NOW! Then come back and let us know what you thought. Chaou. -Rassputin Discuss the movie (Spoilers or Spoiler Free) on our message board.. They didn't go last year, but this year McFarlane Toys plans on attending the show. This has been mentioned before in this news section, but again, we hope to remind some of you who are lucky enough to go, that we LOVE to open our e-mails and see pics and info of anything Horror Toys reltated. Here’s what www.Spawn.com has to say: The Spawn.com gang and the Collector's Club are heading to San Diego for Comic-Con International 2001 on July 19-22 at the Convention Center. Our display will be in the Image Comics (Booth #443) area and we'll be showing tons of upcoming action figures, including two-ups of several future lines and advance looks at some upcoming McFarlane Toys Collector's Club exclusives. Al "Spawn" Simmons will be in attendance as well as several Spawn.com staffers. In addition to the display we're building just for Comic-Con, we'll be taking signups to the new Collector's Club and offering those folks a chance at winning one of several new exclusive Urizen action figures before they're available to the public. And the giveaways don't stop there. We've been scouring our warehouse for days, finding new and old action figures and signed comics to hand off to Comic-Con attendees. In addition to toys, several Todd McFarlane Productions artists will be attending Comic-Con, including Danny Miki, Angel Medina, Ashley Wood, Steve Niles and Jay Fotos. San Diego is the No. 1 comics convention in the world for a reason: It's a blast. If you're heading to the show, make sure to stop by the Spawn booth to shoot the breeze. And remember, we like Pop Tarts, gummy worms and Now & Laters. See you in sunny San Diego. So, if you’re planning on going, check out the exclusive AOD two pack or any new Collector’s Club exclusives. Hell, it even sounds like McFarlane might be giving out some great gifts… check it out. Again, why are you here? The comic con starts tomorrow! Go there and get back to us! NOW! Chaou. -Rassputin Well, it sounds as if these new demented toys just might be out right now. www.McFarlaneguide.com says that the toys are on the store’s shelves even as I type this. A few people from the Spawn Board claim to have them in their hands even now. Is it true? I’d love to say yes. These figures look great and I want them. So, let me know. Let us all know. In fact, go out and check for yourselves. It’s a beautiful day! Go outside! See a movie! Go to the comic con! Buy some freakishly cool toys! ENJOY YOURSELVES…
that’s what I’m gonna do. Chaou. –Rassputin Updates for 7-15 Bishop here, famous moderator on the board, saying hello with my first news piece. The projected totals for the weekend box office are in, and 'Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within' has just gotten a beatdown at the hands of a bubbly blonde. FF took in a palty $11.5 million over the weekend, with $19.1 grossed since its Wednesday debut. Meanwhile, to the horror of many, 'Legally Blonde' got number one with an estimated $20.4 million. Sony had previously stated that if the movie made at least $35 million over the course of the Wednesday to Sunday period, they would greenlight a sequel, no questions asked. That's pretty shot now, although I'm sure we'll see Cid again, in some game or something. - Bishop
Think of it, coming soon to a playroom near you, a Triple Threat ladder match. Darth Vader, scourge of the galaxy, VS The Game HHH, VS the Hero of CTHD and all around BadAss, LI MU BAI! Yep, the good folks at Art Asylum have cranked out an impressive line of figures from the sleeper hit of last year. Included in the first assortment are Li Mu Bai with the Green Destiny. Jen Yu in Ninja Gear, Yu Shu Len, in Wall fighting pose, and Lo, in Bad Ass Battle pose. The line contains 12-14 points of Articulation respectively, and many of the figures come with interchangable hands. The Line won't hit stores until September, but Click the pics below to get a first look courtesy of this months Toyfare.
Aftersome careful studying of the pictures, we have come to the unfortunate conclusion that the Exclusive "Ice Blue" Edward Scissorhands is not McFarlane's Movie Maniac, but actually Ned Scissorhands, Ed's less regarded older brother. It seems that after sitting in his younger siblings shadow for far too long, he wants to cash in by selling his likeness to the Cons for a deceptive Exclusive figure aimed to fool McFarlane fans into thinking they got a treat. Ok, so that's all crap, but here's the real deal. The Exclusive is actually are molded version of Yellow Submarine's version of the Edward Scissorhands figure. If you are not familiar with it, we will have scans for you up soon, but we would still like one, if anyone is heading to the con and feeling generous. Higher on our list now though are Strength from The "House of the Dead" line, and the Resident Evil Zombie Soldier, so again we beg, HELP US OUT!!! Check out the pics below for a couple of looks at IceBlue Ed and the other requested figures. You can find these pics and more in this months issue of Toyfare!
Updates for 7-13
Spawn.com news is also giving us our first look at the Pit Witch deadite that is part of the Army of Darkness two pack. The figure is of the second creature that fought Ash in the pit, and in my opinion the best choice. Take a look at it here.-Badism
Spawn.com news Has now revealed all the changes that have been made to the MM4 line up. First up is the T-800: he will now be packaged with the battle damaged head only. Second is the T-1000: both torso variants will now be packaged with the figure. Third and most disturbing of all is the Blair Witch; this figure will now have two separately packaged head an torso sculpts, which will be concealed by the figures vale. This may be Mcfarlane's effort to maximize the sale's of what is sure to be a big peg warmer. The rest of the figure's remain as shown at toy fair.-Badism Updates for 7-12
Well folks, for my first update, I got you all some movie news. You all love movie news, don’t you boys and girls? First up is Blade 2: Bloodhunt. The official release date has been declared: March 22nd, 2002. In case you’re unaware that a sequel was even in works, here’s a quick premise from www.imdb.com: “A rare mutation has occurred within the vampire community. The Reaper. A vampire so consumed with an insatiable bloodlust that they prey on vampires as well as humans, transforming victims who are unlucky enough to survive into Reapers themselves. Now their quickly expanding population threatens the existence of vampires, and soon there won't be enough humans in the world to satisfy their bloodlust. Blade, Whistler (Yes, he's back) and an armory expert named Scud are curiously summoned by the Shadow Council. The council reluctantly admits that they are in a dire situation and they require Blade's assistance. Blade then tenuously enters into an alliance with The Bloodpack, an elite team of vampires trained in all modes of combat to defeat the Reaper threat. Blade's team and the Bloodpack are the only line of defense which can prevent the Reaper population from wiping out the vampire and human populations.” Fun, Fun. Want to see some more Jurassic Park 3 scenes (as if there weren’t enough already… what is it now? About 10 TV spots, 3 trailers… something like that?) But for you diehard fans that just can’t get enough, tune into NBC this Saturday night for “Jurassic Saturday.” NBC will present a special showing of the original Spielberg mega hit Jurassic Park hosted by Sam Neil (Dr. Alan Grant). During the presentation, there will be new scenes shown from Jurassic Park 3, including the much talked about T-Rex - Spinosaurus battle. Should be interesting if you want to see it. Check it out. I know it’s a little early for Halloween, but I’ve got some good news and some bad news… A little bit of news for you fans who were so desperately looking forward to the Special Edition of Halloween 2 coming to DVD; the bad news: It’s not going to be a Special Edition. *Insert collective sigh here* According to Universal, they failed to get the rights to certain special features (for example: the alternate ending to the film). When Rick Rosenthal, the director of H2, found out, he bailed on an audio commentary for the film. With none of these extras, the disc is now simply a standard DVD with possibly a trailer. So, for all of you who were waiting for the extras-loaded Special Edition of Halloween 2, then, unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait a little longer (thanks to Bishop for giving the heads up on that). Now that most of you are sad and depressed, how about something a little uplifting? Want to see the very first pic (that we know of) of Michael Myers from the seventh sequel in the Halloween franchise: Halloween 8: The Homecoming? Check it out here: http://www.vancouversun.com/newsite/entertainment/010711/5093551.html Not the best pic… but it is the first, and it does look interesting (Props to Lunatic for that heads up). And with that, I’m out till next time. Chaou. -Rassputin Updates for 7-11
One more thing while we’re dispensing all this valuable info, I’d like to introduce myself. I am Rassputin. Some of you may know me from the Movie Maniacs Message Board, but in order to keep this site as up to date as possible, I have offered my assistance to the powers that be to help them maintain the news section. I will be updating from time to time, and would like your help. If you have any information about anything important to this website, let me or another of the members know. You can reach me at rassputin@hotmail.com…
and I think that’s about it. Chaou. -Rassputin
First off, I have to say thanks to Poe Ghostal who wrote in to correct a very grievous error! The aformentioned Exclusive Army of Darkness set will be ASH and Pit Deadite, not Evil Ash, as I had before. The corrections have been made to the original report below so if you haven't read it... it was right all along ;) Now, we must send out a desperate Plea to all readers. If you are, or know someone who is going to this year's San Diego Comicon, or Wizardworld Chicago, Please help us out!!! You see Diamond Distributing will be offering some exclusive figures at the Con, and one of them is an "Ice Blue" version of Edward Scissorhands. It would be a must have for us at the page, so if you think you can help us out, write us HERE ASAP!!!
Updates for 7-10
Both anticipation and promotion of the upcoming collaboration between Clive Barker and Todd McFarlane are growing. This line will be one of the more interesting lines in quite some time, and it will be interesting to see how it performs in the unpredictable collectors market. Here's a Press release from McFarlane toys: "While 2001 has been a big year so far for McFarlane Toys, nothing has had an impact with the hardcore toy collector quite like the upcoming Clive Barker's Tortured Souls line. These six figures have inspired revulsion and gleeful utterances of "cool" from every quarter. The unveiling of the line was one the premiere events at Toy Fair 2001, where Todd McFarlane and Clive Barker held a press conference (HERE). Tortured Souls is the brainchild of a close association between McFarlane and Barker, who labored to create figures so extreme they would become a benchmark in horror toys. Mission accomplished. The specifics on the figures and pictures be found along here: http://www.spawn.com/news/news010706b.html. But you don't just get figures. Barker wrote an entire novella outlining the characters and their shared world. Each figure is packaged with a chapter; purchase all six figures and you get an entire original Clive Barker fiction available nowhere else. In celebration of the upcoming release of Clive Barker's Tortured Souls, Spawn.com has created a special Tortured Souls feature section that includes photography, descriptions, Quicktime VR movies, packaging, concept sketches, in-progress sculpts, story excerpts and several downloads. Click here: http://www.spawn.com/features/torturedsouls/index.html to check it out."

Updates for 7-8
What a way to come back after some time off. Ash X wrote in today to inform us that the mystery figure in the upcoming Ash Exclusive set is the Dungeon Deadite or "Pit Creature" as he put it to us. Perhaps McFarlane will make the fans happy by taking the newly resculpted head and putting it on included Ash figure. As always, this has in no way been confirmed my McFarlane, but our sources have served us well in the past so we feel comfortable taking there word for it. Hey, at least if we're wrong, we'll admit it, but either way, remember, you heard it here first! -RUSS We'll have the News Archive up soon along with some new sections so keep checking back with us. |
